We could wear masks
to greet the dawn
the way we do
when evening comes
around the brick corners
the brick spires
isn't it exciting
that we have these shadows
attached to our spines
so we are like sundials
reliable all day
and when night comes
we no longer have to serve
to stand and serve
we no longer are slaves
