Something tired is wrapped around
something not tired at all
infinitely awake
fat of a dead animal
carnal as fate
a flame
smacking its lips
sometimes
ridiculously scented

This cat reminds me
when it wants
to eat,

a drink
the poor plant
cannot beseech,

brought inside
a human world
the way memory's

turned beggar,
called parasite
when it would prefer

to live outside
